What is Yoga Nidra and Why You Need to Experience this Profound Practice!

Do you suffer from insomnia? Stress and anxiety? Racing thoughts? Depression and Fatigue?

Yoga Nidra is a sleep-based guided meditation designed to nourish and revitalize body, mind and spirit. During the meditation, you will be supported by the use of blankets, bolsters and blocks to allow the body to rest comfortably. Once the body is at the ease, the mind follows.

Yoga Nidra is a way to experience calmness and peace in your body and mind. It increases mental clarity and focus. Regularly practicing Yoga Nidra will help you remain calm and centered admist whatever life throws at you. Yoga Nidra allows you to step back and look at the bigger picture. Learn how to respond rather than react to stressors in your life.

Yoga Nidra helps retrain the mind to assess and respond rather than react and lash out. Stress is unavoidable. How you manage the daily stressors in life is key, and Yoga Nidra gives you the tools for better managing stress.  Yoga Nidra uses techniques such as body and breath awareness to calm the mind of its incessant chatter.

The goal of meditation is not about clearing the mind of its thoughts. Thoughts will always occur in the mind. Yoga Nidra helps to dis-identify from your thoughts and uncover your true abundant nature. During Yoga Nidra, you enter the deeper states of brain wave activity, i.e., Gamma and Theta brain waves of sleep, all while remaining alert and conscious.

There is no wrong way to do Yoga Nidra! There are no contraindications to this practice. 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra is comparable to three hours of deep, restful sleep!
